Title: PHP Developer
Reporting to: PHP Technical Lead
Location: Wrexham/Hybrid

The role:

As a PHP Developer, you will be an integral part of our development team, responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of PHP-based applications. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create efficient, scalable, and high-quality solutions that meet our business needs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain PHP applications, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.​
  • Collaborate with the team to gather and analyze requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solutions.​
  • Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code adhering to best practices and coding standards.​
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure code quality and stability.​
  • Work closely with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.​
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development processes and tools.​
  • Assist in the deployment and maintenance of applications in various environments.

The person:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).​
  • Experience in PHP development, with a strong understanding of PHP frameworks like Laravel, Symfony, or others.​
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related front-end technologies.​
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and development workflows.​
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.​
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.​
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.​
  • Understanding of server configurations and cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.).​
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies and automated testing frameworks.​
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
