Well, it’s certainly been a busy 3 months over the summer period! Here’s more about what we’ve been up to.
We kicked things off in June with our summer party at Chester Races – and what an evening it was! Despite a typical, grey and drizzly afternoon leading up to the event itself, our Pennies donned their finest outfits, glammed up in the makeshift beauty parlour (aka the Moneypenny boardroom) and hit the open course for an evening of racing and socialising. Drinks were drunk, food was munched, bets were won, and there were a dedicated few who continued their night when returning to Wrexham. A huge thank you to Chester Races and our Engagement Team who worked tirelessly to ensure the evening was a magical one.
July means school is out for the summer and parents are juggling all sorts of life admin and work responsibilities. A quieter month, we focused on relaunching our Minipennies meet-ups for those on maternity leave and welcomed lots of little ones into our child-friendly soft play area (we repurposed our on-site pub, The Dog & Bone). Seeing all our maternity Pennies having an opportunity to socialise and catch up with other mums was lovely and we’re looking forward to hosting every other month going forward.
Heading into August when lots of us go on holiday and others continue to busy away at our Wrexham HQ delivering fabulous service for our clients, we held a Financial Wellbeing Market. This gave our team the chance to meet and chat with various providers and support outlets, including our Smart Pensions, Citizens Advice Bureau, Mortgage Advice Bureau and more. We have some amazing relationships with businesses in the local area and this was a great opportunity to share some of the support available to our wonderful people, especially with Christmas being the next big thing we have to think about and account for financially. Thankfully, we have our PennyPerks platform where there’s plenty of good discounts for Christmas pressies!
